Corrective Statement on allegations of bribery in the context of Mexican exports
10.03.2011
With regard to allegations that Heckler & Koch exported rifles to Mexican provinces that were embargoed and that Heckler & Koch paid bribes.
With regard to allegations that Heckler & Koch exported rifles to Mexican provinces that were embargoed and that Heckler & Koch paid bribes please note the following statement:
- Heckler & Koch never supplied Mexican provinces with rifles. Contractual partner for exports to Mexico is the central body D.C.A.M which is controlled by the Mexican Department of Defense. D.C.A.M. orders were and are subject to control and approval of German authorities and Heckler & Koch can prove the authorized approval for each rifle that has gone to Mexico.
- Heckler & Koch never paid a cent of bribe money to Mexican officials to support the sales of the products. The allegation of bribery has been launched by a group of persons including a former H&K-employee who is now working for a competing company.
The fact that the company has been a prime contractor of Mexico for more than 20 years and therefore has been doing business on a continuing basis does question the validity of the accusations.
