A large number of technical requirements derived directly from users‘ day-to-day operational experience have found their ideal implementation in the HK417. The result is an infantry weapon that has terminal ballistic effectiveness well beyond 500 m.

The HK417 offers not only the required range and penetration, but also simple handing and operation, a modular structure, and last but not least a patented gas regulation system that allows the unlimited use of silencers, making the HK417 an assault rifle that satisfies all requirements.
